Planning application submitted
An outline planning application has been submitted to Wealdon District Council. Click here to see the news release announcing this.

What happens now?

Many of you have already contributed your ideas to the evolution of this masterplan. That does not prevent you having your say about the planning application. David Wilson Homes wants once again to encourage your participation in the planning process, confident that the plan submitted last month (February 2011) is both well-conceived and truly beneficial for Maresfield as a whole.

It certainly puts a lot of money on the table for upgrading the infrastructure and village resources wherever these may be found inadequate. In fact, the expected financial benefits of £3.7 million come to well over £5,000 in improvements for every household in Maresfield.

The submission to the district council is an ‘outline’ planning application seeking consent for the site to be allocated for housing, and the broad scale (number) of houses to be built. This also allows flexibility to change the nature of the development and the design in line with further comments and suggestions resulting from the planning application process. If outline planning consent is achieved, this will be followed by a detailed application later this year. If we are successful, construction will be phased over a number of years, with work likely to begin in 2012.

We show below the contact details for the parish and district councillors who represent Maresfield, so that you can make your
views known to them, and the planning office of Wealden District Council, so that you can do the same once the application goes in.
