Our vision is to create an educational institution at the heart of the Hemel Hempstead community, where young and adult students alike will equip themselves with skills for work and life, an uplifting building and inspiring place whose benefits will be shared with the public: a development expressing confidence in the town, located at the junction between the old town and the new, and fulfilling a unifying role both physically and socially.

What would be your alternative vision?

• To rebuild the College on the same site, with no interruption to studies.
• To create a modern, purpose-designed skills training establishment that is educationally and economically relevant to the area, and helps to maintain the “outstanding” grading awarded by Ofsted in March 2010 to West Herts College, the first general further education college to achieve this under the latest way of inspecting colleges.
• To provide access and facilities to the public, including an upgraded river walkway, a café and meeting rooms.
• To fund the redevelopment without a penny from council taxpayers, assisted by the development of non-educational elements within the overall site.
