A number of key features within and bounding the site have influenced the emerging design concepts to date:

• Gadebridge Park, a large public open space to the North,
• The Wesleyan Methodist Chapel,
• Scale and massing of the residential fringe located to the West of the site,
• Dominant built forms along the streetscape such as the Civic Hall.
